Jaeger-LeCoultre: the feminine card with the “Rendez-vous” watch
For the release of the new Rendez-Vous Dazzling Night & Day watch by Jaeger-Lecoultre, American actress Amanda Seyfried poses for this couture timepiece. A look back at the history of the Rendez-Vous collection.
Succeeding actress Diane Kruger as muse, Oscar-nominated American actress Amanda Seyfried embodies the new Rendez-Vous watch, titled Dazzling Night & Day, in an elegant photo shoot for Jaeger-LeCoultre with renowned New York photographer Alique. A friend of the Swiss watchmaker since 2019, she wears the Rendez-Vous Dazzling Night & Day watch, which elegantly evokes mystery and a beauty that fascinates with its dazzling diamonds, delicate mother-of-pearl dial as well as its day/night indicator. “The diamonds in the Rendez-Vous Dazzling give the rounded case a whole new dimension. There’s something really fascinating about the sparkle,” says the actress.
Amanda was seduced by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s feminine complications: “I’ve always been fascinated by the night sky. There is something so mysterious and romantic about it. To bring such refinement to watchmaking expertise is exceptional in my eyes.” Last October, she posed for the 90th anniversary of Jaeger-Lecoultre’s legendary Reverso model.

For the record, and contrary to popular belief, the first wristwatches were worn by women. Always at the forefront, Jaeger-LeCoultre was one of the first to offer them elegant watches, entirely set with diamonds and equipped with exceptionally small calibers. The Rendez-Vous collection is no exception to the rule and is a tribute to this tradition, a desire to sublimate the woman of today.
The Rendez-Vous collection is mysterious and does not reveal its secrets at first glance. Indeed, its automatic movement, whose sapphire back reveals the complexity of its workings, the delicacy of its finishing and its finely guilloched or mother-of-pearl dial as well as the brilliance of its precious stones are revealed when one looks at this delicate work. The work on the diamonds and precious stones is left to the care of the company’s master gem setters, who adopt the claw setting technique, which is distinguished by the fact that small gold wires hold the stones in place.
On the Rendez-Vous Dazzling’s white mother-of-pearl dial, the day/night indicator is set on an iridescent disc studded with golden stars. As the disc rotates, a golden crescent moon slowly follows a wavy sun as day turns to night. Two rows of diamonds surround the dial and the way the outer ring of 36 stones has been set gives it an airy appearance.
