Bentley-inspired yacht interior
British car manufacturer Bentley Motors has collaborated with Dutch boat builder Contest Yachts to design the interior of a yacht for a wealthy client.
Luxury brands never cease to redouble their imagination to surprise their followers, and after Rolls-Royce, which is inspired for its cars by the nautical world, it’s Bentley‘s turn to innovate. They propose the opposite formula of Rolls-Royce, by creating a yacht in the image of the Bentley Continental GT V8, until the slightest detail of the interior design is reproduced.
For the design of this yacht in the image of the famous car, the boat manufacturer Contest Yachts has joined forces with the British car brand and the result is there.
At the request of a client, the decoration of this 18-meter luxury yacht imitates the style of the Bentley Continental GT V8 owned by the buyer. The work was entrusted to the experts at Bentley Design Services, accustomed to creating customized solutions for the brand’s clientele, and in collaboration with Contest Yachts.
The Bentley Continental GT has a red “Hotspur” leather combined with a beige skin. This effect could be recreated in the interior of the luxury yacht. No detail is missing: the interior panels of the yacht also feature the same diamond stitching as the Continental GT’s iconic Bentley seams. This unique quilt requires exactly 712 stitches per diamond and requires a great deal of skill in application. The interior has a Light Sapphire finish, complemented by its deep blue hull, also identical to the buyer’s vehicle.
“This project was an opportunity for Bentley Design Services to showcase some of their many skills in a truly unique collaboration. Bentley cars exhibit qualities of craftsmanship and style that are only achieved at the highest level of nautical design” says Brett Boydell, head of design collaborations at Bentley Motors.
Bentley’s expertise is once again illustrated by this unique creation. After the car and the boat, when will we see a custom jet?
