With the end-of-year celebrations just a few weeks away, the big Parisian department stores are unveiling their festive designs. Discover the Christmas window displays and decorations put up by four of the capital’s department stores.
Fashion designer Charles de Vilmorin has come up with “Le Noël de mes Rêves” for Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann. The 12 window displays and interior decoration are resolutely fashion. The designer drew his inspiration from a story: that of a little girl and her magic paintbrush travelling through their imaginary world. The windows are decorated with a colourful scenography featuring quirky, fantastic characters typical of Charles de Vilmorin’s style. The large Christmas tree under the dome is decorated with bubble balls and features a giant doll (the little girl in the story…) dressed in a sparkling red costume. A capsule collection completes Charles de Vilmorin’s immersion in Galeries Lafayette.
This year, Printemps Haussmann is fulfilling the wishes of people all over the world. In the windows, paper letters come to life. From the collection of messages by birds, to the processing of wishes by owls and owls, to the making of gifts to match the wishes, the façades tell a real story full of magic. A Christmas tree and a paper bookcase by Prada fill the eyes of young and old with stars.
Food lovers beware ! Partly created in partnership with Warner Bros for the release of the film Wonka, the Samaritaine décor features giant lollipops, endless mirrors and magnificent chandeliers. Christmas tree ornaments and platters of sweet and savoury treats all in glitter are set alongside an XXL calendar. A mouth-watering decor.
Head for the Bon Marché Rive Gauche, which this year has decided to offer a cocooning atmosphere. As a giant bear in a golden jumper greets passers-by, four themed Christmas trees stand on the second floor of the shop. The elegant atmosphere is warm and comforting, thanks to gold and glittering elements and a ceiling of grandiose Christmas baubles. The various areas feature orange characters, illuminated by a host of garlands.
