Filling Pieces unveils sneakers inspired by IWC timepieces
To celebrate its partnership with IWC, the brand Filling Pieces has designed a pair of limited edition sneakers that uses the codes of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Top Gun, Woodland edition.
High-end sneaker brand Filling Pieces recently unveiled the “Low Top Ghost Woodland”, a pair of sneakers developed in collaboration with watchmaker IWC.
For the record, Filling Pieces was founded in 2009 in Amsterdam by Guillaume Philibert. He wanted to design a high-end sneaker at a fair price. Since then, his iconic “Low Top” sneaker has become a symbol of affordable luxury.
For its part, IWC presented its Top Gun Woodland edition chronograph aviator watch at the last Watches and Wonders in Geneva. The IWC Woodland shade of green was used for the watch’s ceramic case and dial.
The collaboration of the two houses resulted in the “Low Top Ghost Woodland”, which features the original silhouette of the Filling Piece model with design and color details of the IWC signature watch. The “IWC Woodland” shade, specially designed in association with Pantone, is featured on the shoe with a laser-engraved X pattern inspired by the watch’s strap.
“Filling Pieces stands for unity and togetherness, while IWC embodies precision and time. Our main narrative revolves around how precision (time) and emotion (unity) are intertwined with each other as a fundamental part of life and its expressions.” explains Guillaume Philibert.
Christian Knoop, head of design at IWC Schaffhausen, adds, “In each design project, we combine a part of our history with new influences that we pick up from the world around us. Architecture and fashion are often represented in colorful mood boards, and there’s probably not a board without sneakers. It’s exciting to see that our TOP GUN collection has inspired Filling Pieces. With this partnership, we celebrate the culture of creation and exchange.”
The “Low Top Ghost Woodland” is available since September 23 in a limited edition of 100 pairs, sizes 39 to 46. The corresponding IWC watch is only available online and in the brand’s boutiques.
