Frank Sinatra’s California estate seeks new owner
If you’re a big fan of the famous singer Frank Sinatra, you’ll be happy to know that his California estate is up for sale for the first time in 25 years, along with its grounds. Take a tour of this incredible home, nicknamed Byrdview.
Built in 1951 for the wealthy Chase Manhattan Bank heiress Dora Hutchinson, who had commissioned it and had it designed in 1949 by the architectural firm Pereira Luckman AIA, before leaving Los Angeles for New York. The heiress rented the property to Frank Sinatra in the 1950s and 1960s, at the height of his success.
Byrdview, located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley suburb of Chatsworth, offers breathtaking views of the Chatsworth Nature Reserve and its mountainous landscape.
It is impossible to feel cramped as this property sits on over five and a half acres of land. The house is perfect for entertaining as it is divided into two properties: the main residence and a second residence for guests. In addition, the property has parking for up to 100 cars.
Between the two houses, there is a lounge terrace of 186m² covered by a pergola, enough to rest in a peaceful corner.
The property has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms and looks even more impressive with its large floor-to-ceiling windows, which give the place incredible light. Each of the two houses has its own pool.
If you think you’ve seen this house before, you may have, as it has appeared in episodes of Californication and Mad Men.
This exceptional property inhabited by the singer and actor Frank Sinatra is for sale for a cool $21.5 million.
