Lady Jorgia: The largest luxury yacht transaction of the year
In the world of luxury yachting, transactions often take place away from prying eyes. But when exceptional superyachts change hands, the world quickly becomes aware. Such is the case with the sale of the superyacht Lady Jorgia, now renamed Andrea, which is making waves in the yachting industry in 2023.
The world of yachting has just witnessed a new record. The 115.1-meter superyacht Lady Jorgia has been sold through an internal agreement by Moran Yacht & Ship, just three months after being put on the market. The transaction has set a new record in both scale and speed, with an impressive sale price of 330 million euros. Henceforth, this majestic vessel will be known as Andrea, marking the beginning of a new chapter in its history.
The superyacht was initially built by the shipyard Lürssen and was delivered under the name Ahpo to Canadian-Jamaican billionaire Michael Lee-Chin. It was designed and styled by Nuvolari Lenard Design. This technological marvel, inspired by Ferrari, embarked on its maiden voyage at the end of 2021.
“We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank the seller for their trust in our team over the past 20 years, as well as to congratulate the new owner on the purchase of this incredible vessel,” Moran Yacht & Ship said in an official statement. “Sold for 330 million euros in just three months, Ahpo is undoubtedly one of the most significant brokerage transactions ever concluded.”
Renaissance
The transaction was orchestrated internally with the involvement of broker Alex Busher from Edmiston, who played a central role in representing both the buyer and the seller. The new owner, who remains mysterious to this day, has chosen to name it Andrea.
The yacht had been renamed Lady Jorgia when it passed into the hands of Canadian billionaire Patrick Dovigi. This former hockey goaltender turned successful entrepreneur, allowing him to join the ranks of billionaire superyacht owners who showcase their mega-toys in prestigious locations like St. Barth.
Despite the change in ownership, Andrea will continue its career in charter, allowing those who aspire to a luxury seafaring experience to fulfill their dreams, provided they can afford an average of approximately $900,000 per week aboard this floating masterpiece.
Masterpiece of Nautical Luxury
Andrea is a true design gem. Its exterior was created by Zuccon International Project, while naval architecture was handled by its builder, CRN. The interiors were designed by UK-based Winch Design, which opted for a modern style with a nautical color palette.
This superyacht can accommodate up to 12 guests in eight cabins, including two adaptable king-size master cabins that can also be configured as twin beds for maximum flexibility. Additionally, a crew of 28 people ensures impeccable service for its guests.
In terms of performance, Andrea is equipped with two Caterpillar engines, allowing it to reach a top speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots!
Among the notable features of Andrea, you’ll find a spacious entertainment platform on the helipad, which can be covered with a tent for outdoor dining. The yacht also boasts a large beach club at sea level and even an espresso bar to cater to guests’ whims. Sailors can relax in the spa area near the pool or enjoy the dedicated owner’s deck, which includes a private office, lavish outdoor space, and an outdoor cinema for unforgettable movie nights under the stars.
