The best hotels in Val d’Isère with a spa

We’ve tested the spas in Val d’Isère’s 4 and 5 star hotels. Focus on the best and most luxurious.

Luxury mountain charm. Head for the sublime resort of Val d’Isère, which offers 300 kilometres of pistes, a host of activities and an exceptional range of hotels. Ski spa hotels with renowned wellness areas, comfortable, beautifully decorated rooms and tasty restaurants to suit all tastes.

The K2 Chogori

With its façade of stone and dark wood, the K2 Chogori is one of the most beautiful hotels with spa in Val d’Isère. The interior design is reminiscent of a modern chalet. The wood, with its grey tones, blends perfectly with the neutral tones of the furniture and the touches of colour found in the twenty or so rooms and the two penthouses overlooking the village and the slopes.

This cosy, hushed atmosphere also pervades L’Altiplano, a restaurant focusing on Peruvian cuisine that stands out from the traditional Savoyard, Italian and French fare of the region.

And after a few hours skiing in Val d’Isère, head to the hotel’s Goji Spa. With its 12-metre swimming pool, jacuzzi, hammam, sauna and treatment rooms, the aquatic area is decorated in gold, adding a touch of luxury to your moments of relaxation.

Airelles Group

Les Airelles is the first 5-star “ski-in ski-out” hotel in Val d’Isère. From the outside, you can enjoy the large terrace of the Loulou restaurant, with its breathtaking views of the slopes and mountains. The restaurant’s interior design is as Instagrammable as it gets, with a ceiling full of plants and flowers, tartan walls and dishes that smell of Dolce Vita. The Grande Ourse and its Savoyard dishes, the Japanese restaurant Matsuhisa, the piano bar and the brasserie Le Relais are also part of the culinary offer at Airelles Group.

The forty or so rooms and suites, complemented by five spacious flats and a private chalet, offer a refined design delicately enhanced by the charm of the mountains. The Guerlain Spa, with its beige and orange hues, intimate spaces nestling under arches, a 20-metre swimming pool, a hammam, a spa and treatments by the famous cosmetics brand, is a particular highlight.

La Mourra

Set course for La Mourra, a five-star hotel where the suites are enveloped in rough woodwork, while the bathrooms are adorned in black and white marble with touches of gold and bronze. What sets the hotel apart is its private chalets with several bedrooms and intimate spas. Perfect accommodation for all the family and friends on a ski holiday.

The establishment includes a restaurant housed in a very attractive room, also made of wood, with Japanese-style cuisine. The spa, meanwhile, is run by the Susanne Kaufmann brand, offering treatments from elsewhere, tailor-made and classic massages and a special après-ski ritual.

Les Barmes de l’Ours

A member of Relais & Châteaux, Les Barmes de l’Ours, which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, combines mountain charm with modern design and artistic elements. The 76 rooms and suites are spread over four floors, each with its own universe, from the Scandinavian spirit to the lodges of the far north of the Americas, from the Alpine chalet to the contemporary ambience.

In addition to these different atmospheres, La Table de l’Ours, which has been awarded a Michelin star, offers refined gourmet cuisine. The Rôtisserie and the Coin Savoyard respectively delight lovers of spit-roasted meat and local dishes.

The Sisley spa is one of the most beautiful in Val d’Isère, bathed in natural light or sublimated by a starry sky when night falls. This cocoon of well-being extends over more than 1000m2 with all the necessary facilities, including a large swimming pool and 11 treatment rooms.

The Refuge de Solaise

Nestling at an altitude of over 2,500 metres, the Refuge de Solaise, which seems to dominate the Val d’Isère resort, stands out for its breathtaking views of the slopes and mountains, which can be discovered from either side of the hotel. The rooms, suites, flats and dormitory are elegantly and luxuriously decorated, yet rooted in the architecture of the region.

On the culinary side, the Gigi Val d’Isère is an ode to Italian gastronomy, featuring local produce, to be enjoyed in the warmth or on the outdoor terrace, facing the peaks. Le Petit Refuge focuses on typical slopeside dishes, all in a relaxed atmosphere.

The spa has a 25-metre swimming pool that’s great for swimmers, a jacuzzi with a view of the cable car, a polar bath that’s ideal for getting out of your comfort zone, and a private glass bubble in the heart of nature. A warm and welcoming hotel that gives you the fantastic impression of standing next to the stars.
