E-commerce: Farfetch launches its special Ramadan collection

This season, luxury e-commerce platform Farfetch unveiled its new Ramadan capsule collection, featuring exclusive pieces from 30 international and Middle Eastern designers. Let’s take a look at some of the iconic pieces from the collection.

Indeed, the run-up to Ramadan is a significant opportunity for brands and retailers. “The search for modest clothing actually increases by 29% during Ramadan,” said Edward Sabbagh, managing director of Farfetch Middle East.

The collection focused on modest outfits and unveiled over 200 exclusive designs from designers such as Oscar de la Renta, J.W. Anderson, Marchesa, Carolina Herrera, Tory Burch et Dion Lee, as well as regional brands such as Sandra Mansour, Sem Sem, Bambah et Shatha Essa…

According to the platform, the collection is a marriage of “classic favourites with looks straight off the catwalk”, as well as pieces that mix traditions and global influences.

“At Farfetch, we aim to tailor the customer journey to their needs and maintain exclusive, fresh and unique options. We listen, study and respond to customer buying trends in what we believe is the best fusion of supply and culture,” said Edward Sabbagh.

“For the upcoming Ramadan season, we wanted to ensure that we could offer a modesty approach with an Only on Farfetch angle by working with a variety of global and local brands in key categories that we know are in demand during the period.”

Elle B. Mambetov, designer of the Los Angeles-based modest fashion brand, Elle B. Zhou, created a capsule for Farfetch’s Ramadan campaign. She said that reaching a wider audience for her work as an American Muslim designer was a dream come true.

“My collections are true to my aesthetic, full of vibrancy and colour, which I looked for everywhere after I converted to Islam. I am very honoured to have found a way to integrate this aesthetic with Arabic script and elements that reflect my current lifestyle and being. I hope to reinvent modest fashion and create pieces that fill a gap in the market for anyone who likes to dress modestly.”

Fitted suits, quirky caftans, modest evening gowns and luxurious loungewear are all on offer.
